Frequently Asked Questions

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence." Albert Einstein

Why should I have a professional photo shoot when my camera phone is just as good at taking photos?

You don't need a fancy camera to take beautiful photos.

But when it comes to hiring a photographer, you will have a skilled professional who understands lighting, posing positions, connection, and expression and creating natural-looking photos.

I will help direct you and guide you throughout the entire photo shoot. With experience and education in photography, You can take the pressure off by allowing me to capture the exact photos you desire to have.

How long does the shoot last?

Depending on the type of photoshoot, up to 2-3 hours, Newborn photo shoots are 4 hours from set up

Will you direct me?

Yes absolutely, my job is to make you feel at ease and comfortable throughout the entire photo shoot. I will direct you, pose you and guide you.

Where does the shoot take place?

The shoot takes place at a location of your choice whether this is outdoors or in the comfort of your own home. If this doesn’t suit I can arrange an alternative location.

What will I need for the photoshoot?

If the photo shoot is taking place at your home, you will have everything to hand. I will contact you before your shoot and also send you a pre shoot information guide, so you know what to expect from the session.

How much space will I need for you to take our family photo?

For indoor photo shoots, a corner of a room or beside a naturally light space where there is a window, is all I need. A detailed description of my studio kit will be given in the pre shoot information guide.

What if my baby is awake or unsettled during the newborn photo shoot

We’ll get beautiful bright-eyed portraits if the baby is awake, I love these for a newborn photography shoot.

If baby just wants mum, we take a breather, I go at mum and baby’s pace, after all, it is all about your precious bundle of joy. If the baby needs to be fed or changed, that’s perfectly fine. I understand, I have two children of my own. Safety and patience are most important when photographing a newborn baby and children

What should I wear?

For an indoor photoshoot, I recommend the same tone as the background. You can decide what style background you would like for personalised photo shoot. You don’t have to decide on just one outfit. You can have multiple looks. I also recommend family members wear similar tones in family portrait photoshoots as this looks beautiful.

How can I find out more information

It is important that I have a quick chat with you before your photo shoot. This is to find out exactly what you want from the day. From this, I can design your photoshoot to fulfill your needs and expectations.

For posed studio-styled newborn photography, I would recommend a session within the first ten days after the baby is born as babies are still sleepy.

When will my photos be ready to view?

2-3 weeks, I will schedule your photo reveal to view your fully edited photos and you only purchase the photos you love.

I have seen an idea I'd like to try in my photoshoot

That's great, we can definitely try it and get creative.
All ideas are welcomed and will be discussed at your consultation before the shoot.

How many people am I allowed in the shoot?

We can discuss this at your
consultation.

Anything you think I should know?

I think it is important to chat with your spouse, partner, or anyone else who will be in the photoshoot with you. This includes information on what to expect from the session and please pass on any information before the day.
